Overview A highly collectible and rare brooch from the New York jeweller David Webb. The wife of a Manhattan attorney, with a passion for beavers comissioned David Webb himself to design the brooch, using beaver woodcuts as reference for the design. The whimsical, 'cheeky' style of the brooch compared with the unusal and adorable subject matter make for a truly fine piece of jewellery. See images for David Webb's original sketches. Formed beautifully in 18-carat yellow gold with white enamel. Cabochon emeralds mounted for eyes. Signed 'Webb'. Circa 1965
