Overview In excellent condition, from the early Victorian era, this brooch features a central oval section, enameled in black with the words 'in memory of' in gold, surrounding a single double leafed flower of rose-cut diamonds. A black and gold serpent eating its own tail (an ouroboros) frames the entire brooch - symbolising nature's endless cycle of creation and destruction, life and death, eternity. The rear is glass backed to display hair of a loved on or a portrait.
