Overview Dated 1870, this exquisite quality gold and black enamel buckle ring is from the height of the mourning jewellery trend. Following the death of Queen Victoria's beloved husband, Prince Albert in December 1861, mourning jewellery became highly fashionable as the Queen mourned the loss over the following years. Black featured predominately, as seen here with the fine quality black enamel detailing. Highly collectable and in excellent condition. London hallmarks for 18ct gold and date letter 'P' for 1870.
